Privacy Policy

ScanPro ("the App") is developed and operated by Vijay Kumar ("I", "me", or "my"). This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use ScanPro, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data. I am committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Information Collected

ScanPro is designed to work primarily on-device. The table below summarises all data handling:

Camera & Photos — accessed only when you initiate a scan or QR scan. Images are processed locally and saved to your device storage. They are never uploaded to my servers.
Scanned Documents — stored locally on your device using the device file system. I do not have access to your documents.
OCR (Text Extraction) — when you use the Extract Text feature, the page image is sent to OCR.space, a third-party OCR service. Only the image of the specific page you choose to process is sent. Please review OCR.space's Privacy Policy.
In-App Purchases — managed by RevenueCat. RevenueCat may collect your App Store/Play Store customer identifier and purchase history to validate subscriptions. I do not receive or store your payment card information.
Advertising — the free version of ScanPro displays ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS / GAID on Android) to show relevant ads. On iOS, you will be asked for permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any identifier is accessed.
Usage & Scan Count — daily scan usage is stored locally on your device only, to enforce the free-tier scan limit. This data never leaves your device.
App Settings & Preferences — stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. No account or login is required to use ScanPro.

2. Data I Do Not Collect

I do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers.
I do not upload or store your scanned documents on any server.
I do not run analytics beyond what AdMob provides for ad performance.
I do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

ScanPro integrates the following third-party SDKs. Each has its own privacy policy:

OCR.space — text extraction from images
RevenueCat — in-app subscription management
Google AdMob — advertising (free users only)

4. Camera & Photo Library Permissions

The App requests camera permission to scan documents and QR codes, and photo library permission to import images. These permissions are used only for the features you explicitly initiate. You can revoke permissions at any time in your device Settings. The advertising SDK may also collect anonymous diagnostic data (crash/performance logs) to maintain its service.

5. Children's Privacy

ScanPro is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact me and I will delete it.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your documents and settings are stored locally on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by uninstalling ScanPro or clearing app data in your device settings. I do not hold a copy of your documents on any server.

7. Your Rights (EEA / UK / California)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, UK, or California, you may have rights including access, correction, deletion, and data portability. Because ScanPro does not collect personally identifiable information beyond what AdMob and RevenueCat process on my behalf, most rights requests will be handled by contacting those services directly. 8. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
